Job Description

Financial Controller overseeing accounting, controls, treasury, tax, and reporting for Nearform, which builds AI-enabled digital solutions. Leading finance operations across Irish and international entities during an 18-month remote contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and financial records for the Irish and relevant international entities
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and accounting adjustments
  • Prepare and review management accounts and financial reporting packages
  • Analyze financial performance, variances, and trends for management
  • Maintain a robust financial control environment and accounting policies
  • Oversee the end-to-end revenue cycle, revenue recognition, billing, reconciliations, and collections support
  • Own cash flow forecasts, monitor cash positions, oversee bank reconciliations and payment processes, and support treasury activities
  • Oversee legal entity and subsidiary accounting, intercompany accounting, statutory accounts, tax compliance, and audits
  • Develop and remediate financial controls and coordinate internal and external audit activities
  • Lead finance process improvement, standardization, automation, and documentation initiatives
  • Own ERP and accounting systems, financial data integrity, systems optimization, and reporting enhancements
  • Provide leadership and oversight to finance team members and partner with senior stakeholders on financial decision-making

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification required
  • 10+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally including Financial Controller experience
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Experience leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and management accounts
  • Knowledge of financial controls and accounting policies
  • Knowledge of revenue accounting and invoicing
  • Knowledge of multi-entity and intercompany accounting
  • Knowledge of cash flow forecasting and treasury activities
  • Knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger management
  • Knowledge of audit and statutory reporting processes
  • Experience in multinational and/or high-growth environments
  • Strong ERP systems experience; NetSuite experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organized, commercially minded, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve issues independently
  • Preferred: experience in technology services, SaaS, or international/high-growth businesses
  • Preferred: experience managing finance operations across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions
  • Preferred: working knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP
  • Preferred: multi-currency accounting and international transactions experience
  • Preferred: Irish VAT, statutory accounts, and local regulatory compliance experience
  • Preferred: ERP and finance systems implementation or improvement experience
  • Preferred: finance transformation, automation, and process improvement experience
  • Preferred: experience managing or mentoring accounting/finance team members
