Job Description
Genomic Analyst advancing human genetics and genomic medicine at Mendelics, focusing on molecular biology techniques and team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Direct collaboration with the Medical team
- Analysis and reporting of various genetic laboratory techniques, including chromosomal arrays, MLPA, next-generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, among others, performed externally or internally
- Support to different teams at Mendelics: customer service, sales, marketing, and others
- Other activities/issues related to the medical area
- Serve as a primary communication representative for the medical department
- Participation in events/conferences/courses/trainings, among others, as required (remote and in-person)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedicine, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy-Biochemistry, and/or related fields
- Postgraduate degree (Master's/PhD) and/or other specializations in genetics (desirable)
- Technical knowledge in molecular biology and genetics
- Familiarity with the main tests in molecular genetics
- Strong interest in Human Genetics and Genomic Medicine (mandatory)
- Previous experience in Human Genetics (mandatory)
- Interest in NGS data analysis and other molecular techniques (mandatory)
- Experience in the post-analytical phase of NGS and SNP-array (desirable)
- Organizational skills, teamwork, and ability to interact with other departments and clients
- Sense of urgency
- Proven prior experience/knowledge of the required skills (minimum 2 years)
- Active CRBio or equivalent (desirable)
