Job Description

Grant Writer supporting CorpsAfrica, an NGO enabling African youth to lead rural community development projects. Researching funders, managing proposal pipelines, and drafting compliant donor materials across multiple African countries.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify funding opportunities and maintain the grant proposal pipeline across multiple African countries of service
  • Track grant prospecting, active pipelines, proposal status, submission schedules, reporting schedules, and compliance deadlines
  • Draft, edit, and refine grant proposals, concept notes, and donor reports tailored to funder guidelines and CorpsAfrica’s strategic priorities
  • Translate complex program impact and field data into clear, compelling, donor-ready narratives
  • Conduct research to identify institutional, corporate, and foundation funding streams
  • Support country office Philanthropy Officers with prospecting, tracking, and proposal documentation
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to design, implement, and monitor milestones within the annual grants management plan
  • Monitor progress toward targets and provide regular pipeline status and milestone updates
  • Coordinate with the GSO Fundraising team and senior management
  • Participate in a kickoff meeting, regular check-ins, and scheduled grant milestones

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in grant writing, research, and grant lifecycle management
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to track multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to translate program impact into donor-ready content
  • Experience supporting a dispersed team across multiple countries
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to deliver high-quality proposals and reports on time
  • Availability aligned with US East Coast operating hours
  • Familiarity with grant management software or CRM systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of international development funding mechanisms and sub-Saharan African operating contexts preferred
  • Working proficiency in French preferred
  • Submission of a cover letter, resume or CV, financial proposal, and two professional references
