Job Description
Install Manager leading residential solar crews for SpartanX, a solar energy company. Driving safe, efficient projects, quality standards, team development, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily residential solar installation operations
- Manage installation schedules, crew assignments, and project priorities
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to SpartanX quality standards
- Monitor installation progress and proactively resolve field issues
- Verify projects are installation-ready before dispatching crews
- Ensure installations comply with company standards, manufacturer specifications, and local code requirements
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop installation crews
- Conduct ride-alongs, jobsite visits, and performance evaluations
- Establish productivity expectations and hold teams accountable to performance goals
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement
- Assist with workforce planning and manpower allocation
- Conduct field quality inspections and installation audits
- Ensure all crews follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Identify recurring installation issues and implement corrective actions
- Reduce callbacks, warranty work, and installation defects through continuous quality improvement
- Collaborate with Scheduling, Service, Electrical, Permitting, Design, Engineering, and Inspections
- Communicate project updates and operational challenges to leadership
- Support service escalations and installation-related troubleshooting
- Monitor operational KPIs and recommend process improvements
Requirements:
- Previous residential solar installation experience required
- Previous installation leadership or management experience required
- Strong understanding of residential solar construction, roofing, and electrical systems
- Proven ability to lead and motivate field teams
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency with mobile technology, project management platforms, and CRM systems
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
- Previous Install Manager or Field Operations Manager experience preferred
- NABCEP certification preferred
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Electrical or roofing background preferred
- Experience managing multiple installation crews across several markets preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
