Job Description

IT Analyst II supporting CIS, SQL, and utility information systems for Versant Power. Maintaining integrations, troubleshooting applications, and supporting internal customers across northern and eastern Maine.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, development, and testing of new applications, application changes, and upgrades
  • Provide technical support, maintenance, development, programming, and troubleshooting for Customer Information Systems (CIS) and integrations with other systems
  • Provide internal customers with reports, queries, data analyses, problem analysis, and problem resolution
  • Support data synchronization between GIS, CIS, AMI, and MDM
  • Maintain working relationships with external service providers, vendors, and support personnel to resolve issues and ensure efficient operations
  • Provide documentation, project tracking, and management reporting for the department's work plan
  • Provide technical information for Disaster Recovery planning
  • Participate in annual Technical Asset Review updates and asset life cycle management
  • Comply with internal audit requirements, test policies, and change control processes
  • Participate in CIS Team meetings and contribute to decision-making
  • Participate in after-hours callouts for application support
  • Perform designated System Restoration and System Emergency Operations Plan (SEOP) duties
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisors or management

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a client-focused IT support role
  • Working knowledge of Customer Information Systems (CIS) or Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP), and billing systems
  • Expertise with Oracle preferred, or other relational databases such as MSSQL or MySQL
  • Strong experience writing SQL required
  • Experience with PL/SQL preferred
  • Reporting expertise with one or more of Cognos, TM1, SQL Server Reporting Services, and/or Crystal Reports is a plus
  • Strong customer service ethic
  • Ability to work independently or in teams, with minimal or no supervision
  • Project Management experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • MS Project experience is a plus
  • Experience with utility application systems, billing systems and/or electrical infrastructure and design would be an asset
  • Willingness to travel for training and User Group participation
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work usual hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday
  • Ability to work 40–50 hours when needed to meet deadlines
  • Availability for off-hour emergency monitoring and after-hours application support callouts
