Job Description
IT Security Engineer safeguarding sensitive healthcare information for Legacy Community Health, a Southeast Texas federally qualified health center. Monitoring threats, assessing risks, and strengthening Microsoft cloud and infrastructure security.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison with the managed detection and response vendor to analyze and respond to security findings
- Work with Office365/Azure administrators to integrate security protocols
- Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure team to implement and review Standard Operating Procedures
- Analyze technical reports, benchmarks, and standards and provide actionable recommendations
- Use firewalls and advanced threat protection systems to monitor activities and identify potential threats
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring of security systems
- Conduct risk assessments for new software applications and services
- Review third-party security controls and recommend responses
- Implement process and procedure improvements
- Participate in assigned projects
- Be available for on-call duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma required
- 5 or more years of experience in Information Technology required
- Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
- 3 years as a system administrator, network/server engineer, or equivalent job experience preferred
- Experience in health care and knowledge of HIPAA preferred
- Technical certification, especially in Information Security, preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, group policy, Microsoft server administration, and Office 365/Azure administration preferred
- Availability for on-call duties
