Job Description
Lab IT Solution Engineer supporting JTG Consulting Group’s healthcare consulting sales process. Scoping laboratory IT solutions, developing quotes and SOWs, and transitioning awarded work to Services.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Sales organization as a technical and solutions-focused partner
- Translate laboratory, technology, and operational needs into well-defined solutions
- Support client discovery, scoping, estimating, proposal and SOW development, and transition of awarded work to Services
- Coordinate internal communication and gather and document requirements
- Develop and maintain accurate client quotes based on scope, assumptions, resources, pricing guidance, and delivery inputs
- Support client discovery and scoping conversations with technical and solution-focused questions
- Translate client needs and technical requirements into proposed solutions, including scope, deliverables, assumptions, exclusions, dependencies, resources, and level of effort
- Coordinate Services and subject-matter-expert review of proposed solutions
- Lead technical portions of client scope and solution walkthroughs
- Address client questions and scope refinement with Sales
- Identify technical, operational, integration, resource, and implementation considerations affecting scope, timeline, cost, or delivery
- Transition awarded work from Sales to Services
- Develop, update, and maintain client quotes
- Coordinate review and approval of pricing, resources, assumptions, margin, and exceptions
- Support proposals, SOWs, and client-facing sales documentation
- Maintain documentation of quote assumptions, revisions, and approvals
- Improve scoping and quoting processes, tools, templates, and efficiency
- Support technical client discussions, presentations, solution walkthroughs, and pre-sales activities
- Respond to client questions and provide recommendations based on JTG capabilities and industry expertise
- Translate technical laboratory IT concepts into business and operational value
- Support Sales in addressing technical questions and client objections
- Participate in onsite client meetings, workflow assessments, conferences, industry events, and other sales activities
- Provide subject matter expertise for RFIs, RFPs, and prospective client inquiries
- Develop reusable solution engineering materials, technical content, solution descriptions, scoping tools, quoting resources, and sales resources
- Maintain knowledge of JTG service offerings, capabilities, delivery models, expertise, laboratory IT market trends, technologies, vendor solutions, and competitive offerings
- Perform other assigned tasks and projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- Experience working as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Laboratory Information Systems
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Clinical Processes
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working in solution engineering or HIT Implementation
- Demonstrated experience developing scopes, estimates, quotes, proposals, and Statements of Work for professional or technical services
- Experience coordinating client requirements across Sales, technical subject matter experts, and service-delivery teams
- Knowledge of clinical standards, documentation methods and existing practices
- Demonstrated technical skills and aptitudes related to all computer related activities
- Demonstrated ability to understand laboratory-related computer applications and learn and apply new applications and programs
- Understanding of HIPAA, PHI security considerations, and healthcare data compliance
- Familiarity with clinical standards, clinical processes, laboratory workflows, documentation methods, existing practices, and clinical lab regulations and quality management systems, including FDA, CAP, CLIA, AABB, and HIPAA
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to work safely in active laboratory environments around biological specimens, chemicals, and other laboratory hazards, with appropriate training and protective equipment
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience with Dynamics 365
- Experience with Microsoft 365
- Ability to work remotely
- Located within the Central or Eastern time zones
- Anticipated travel of 25% to 50%, varying based on client engagements and business needs
