Job Description
Lead FP&A Analyst guiding GTM planning, forecasting, and investment decisions for Motive's AI-powered fleet-management platform. Translating operational performance into executive insights.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to Go-To-Market leadership
- Translate business performance into clear insights and support planning and forecasting
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting processes for assigned GTM functions
- Lead budget-versus-actuals analysis, identify key drivers, and communicate actionable recommendations
- Build and maintain financial models covering headcount, operating expenses, and other GTM investments
- Partner with functional leaders on annual plans, quarterly outlooks, and scenario analyses
- Analyze GTM operating metrics including pipeline, retention, churn, implementation activity, and sales efficiency
- Prepare recurring reporting and executive-ready materials for leadership reviews, operating meetings, and board-related requests
- Reconcile financial and operational data across systems, investigate discrepancies, and improve data quality and control
- Support headcount planning, hiring analysis, capacity modeling, and workforce investment decisions
- Create and improve dashboards, reporting tools, and analytical processes
- Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and improve FP&A process scalability, accuracy, and timeliness
- Collaborate with Accounting, Data, Revenue Operations, People, and Corporate FP&A
- Provide ad hoc analysis and decision support for strategic initiatives, investment cases, and business priorities
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in FP&A, finance, investment banking, consulting, business operations, or a related analytical field
- Strong financial modeling skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
- Experience with forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, scenario modeling, and executive reporting
- Ability to connect financial results to operational drivers and explain complex analysis clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Experience partnering with senior business leaders and constructively challenging assumptions when appropriate
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project-management skills
- Comfort working with large, imperfect datasets and reconciling information across multiple systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High ownership, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a bias toward practical, decision-useful analysis
- An AI-native mindset and history of utilizing AI to improve workflows
- Experience with HEX is a plus
- Preferred: experience in a high-growth SaaS, technology, or subscription-based business
- Preferred: familiarity with SaaS and GTM metrics, including ARR, retention, churn, bookings, pipeline, capacity, and productivity
- Preferred: experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, Pigment, Snowflake, Tableau, or SQL-based analytics environments
- Preferred: experience supporting Sales, Marketing, Implementation, Customer Success, or other post-sales organizations
- Preferred: experience building scalable reporting, dashboards, or automated planning workflows
- Must be authorized to receive and access commodities and technologies controlled under U.S. Export Administration Regulations
