Job Description
Legal SME applying Japanese commercial and regulatory law to annotate datasets and evaluate AI outputs. Supporting DataForce’s language and technology solutions for global business.
Responsibilities:
- Research Japanese commercial legislation, regulatory requirements, and relevant judicial decisions
- Analyze commercial contracts, corporate transactions, and regulatory matters
- Review Japanese-language legal documents and identify relevant statutory provisions
- Annotate and validate legal datasets
- Verify statutory citations, terminology, and interpretations
- Evaluate AI-generated legal responses and flag incorrect or unsupported conclusions
- Draft legal summaries, contract provisions, and structured legal analyses
- Assist AI teams with prompt engineering and evaluation frameworks
Requirements:
- Japanese Attorney (Bengoshi), JD/LL.M. equivalent graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or experienced Paralegal
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant commercial or regulatory legal experience
- Advanced or native Japanese proficiency
- Strong knowledge of Japanese commercial and regulatory law
- Excellent legal research, statutory analysis, citation verification, and drafting skills
- English proficiency preferred
- Familiarity with legal technology or Generative AI is a plus
