Job Description
Legal SME helping DataForce by TransPerfect train legal AI using Philippine-law research, annotation, and validation. Auditing AI outputs for accurate citations, interpretation, and reasoning.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a legal expert on Philippine corporate, commercial, labour, tax, and regulatory law
- Research and analyze Philippine statutes, regulations, jurisprudence, administrative guidance, and legal precedents
- Review, annotate, and validate legal datasets, including contracts, legal opinions, regulatory materials, and statutory interpretations
- Evaluate commercial agreements, corporate documentation, employment-related materials, and regulatory documents
- Support AI teams in designing prompts and evaluation criteria for legal reasoning and drafting tasks
- Review AI-generated legal responses and identify inaccurate citations, incorrect interpretations, hallucinations, or incomplete reasoning
- Create or evaluate legal summaries, memoranda, contract clauses, and structured legal analyses
- Monitor relevant developments affecting Philippine corporate, labour, tax, and commercial regulation
- Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, and product specialists to develop and evaluate high-quality legal datasets
Requirements:
- Licensed Attorney, JD/LL.M. graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or experienced Paralegal with strong knowledge of Philippine law
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant legal practice, research, drafting, or advisory experience
- Strong understanding of Philippine corporate law, commercial contracts, Labour Code requirements, taxation, and regulatory matters
- Excellent legal research, statutory interpretation, citation verification, and document drafting skills
- Strong written English
- Familiarity with legal databases, regulatory research platforms, and legal technology tools
- Familiarity with Generative AI, prompt engineering, or AI data annotation is a plus
- Awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices
