Job Description

Loan Manager managing residential mortgage documentation and underwriting processes for CrossCountry Mortgage, a distributed retail mortgage lender. Owning assigned loans from contract through closing while coordinating borrowers, originators, underwriters, vendors, and referral partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze borrowers’ credit, employment, income, and assets before underwriting submission
  • Assemble complete loan packages in the appropriate underwriting order
  • Verify documentation accuracy, completeness, and processing checklists
  • Prepare loan approval summaries, Forms 1008 and 1003, and verify loan document information
  • Communicate with Loan Originators, customers, and Underwriters to obtain required documentation
  • Review loans for mortgage regulatory compliance and prepare required disclosures
  • Obtain third-party documentation such as surveys, flood certifications, title commitments, payoff information, and other items
  • Verify vendor orders, invoices, and loan-file documentation
  • Manage the assigned loan pipeline and complete activities and reporting within turnaround times
  • Assist with loan setup, closing, secondary marketing, loan servicing, and other departmental documentation needs
  • Document material loan-application communications in the loan origination system
  • Own assigned loans from contract through closing, including status, outstanding items, deadlines, and next steps
  • Proactively communicate milestones, loan status, concerns, and outstanding items to borrowers, Loan Originators, and referral partners
  • Identify, address, and escalate documentation, underwriting, timing, or closing issues
  • Monitor contractual closing dates and milestones to facilitate accurate and timely closings
  • Work varying hours and overtime when necessary based on business needs
  • Perform additional duties as required

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of residential mortgage processing experience
  • Encompass experience
  • Experience with RESPA regulations and knowledge of mortgage and consumer lending regulations and loan documentation, preferred
  • Knowledge of DU, LP, Microsoft Office, and Windows
  • Excellent math and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Primarily operates within Pacific Time zone working hours
  • Availability to work varying hours and overtime when necessary based on business needs
