Job Description
Forensic investigations manager researching damages, valuation, and accounting matters for Secretariat, a complex-problems consulting firm. Preparing expert reports and supporting hearings, trials, and mediations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct economic, valuation, financial, accounting, and industry research
- Analyze financial and non-financial information from public sources and report findings to team members
- Prepare damages models, forensic accounting investigations, and expert reports
- Work independently while managing staff and communicating with experts, clients, and counsel
- Prepare for and attend hearings, trials, and mediations
- Travel from time to time as required
- Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements and associated duties
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar, from an accredited university or college or MBA
- 4+ to 10 years of prior experience in economic damages and/or forensic accounting
- Holder of or pursuing CPA, CFF, CFA, CFE, ASA or ABV credentials is must
- Strong expert report writing skills
- Strong analytics and quantitative skills
- Ability to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations and develop creative approaches and solutions
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution abilities
- Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel as needed, likely less than 10% of the time
- English is a requirement
- Working proficiency in a second non-English language is a plus and encouraged
- Experience with S&P’s CapIQ is a plus
- Expertise in SQL, R, and other database or statistical programs is a plus
- Prior experience at a Big Four accounting firm is a plus; commensurate experience in banking, mid-tier accounting firms, or litigation support firms will also be considered
