Job Description
Market Development Manager focused on expanding Aftermarket business for ElmoRietschle across EMEA. Lead strategic initiatives in health and plastics recycling sectors while managing key accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Market analysis
- Analyze applications in the healthcare sector (e.g., biopharma, laboratory vacuum, hospital/medical gases) and in plastics recycling to identify growth opportunities.
- Evaluate industries for resilience, regulatory trends and relevance to sustainability.
- Monitor competitors and product gaps to support sales and portfolio strategy.
- Define market segmentation and value propositions.
- Support sales in managing key accounts through performance assessments and innovation planning.
- Provide insights into applications and markets to shape customer strategies.
- Lead acquisition of new strategic customers and develop compelling business cases.
- Advise portfolio leaders on trends, applications and competitor positioning.
- Support the development of new products and preparation of business cases.
- Align pricing and value strategies with sales and product teams.
- Deliver targeted training and technical support to increase sales effectiveness.
- Close capability gaps through tools, coaching and tailored materials.
- Collaborate with marketing on messaging, campaigns and promotional materials.
- Strengthen brand presence through trade shows, digital content and industry-specific initiatives.
- Create and update training materials on health and plastics recycling topics.
- Act as a subject-matter and market expert for internal stakeholders, customers and external audiences (e.g., conference presentations, webinars and customer events)
Requirements:
- University degree in engineering, business administration or a related technical/commercial field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in market development, product management or technical sales — preferably in industrial applications such as vacuum technology, compressors or sustainable technologies.
- Proven track record in managing strategic customers, identifying market opportunities and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, plastics recycling or related sustainability-focused industries is a strong advantage.
- International business experience and very good English skills are required; additional languages are a plus.
- Travel: this position requires more than 50% travel within Europe
