Job Description

Mortgage Loan Processor handling high-net-worth mortgage loans for Sutherland Mortgage Services. Gathering documentation, reviewing files, coordinating underwriting conditions, and scheduling settlements.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather required documentation from borrowers and obtain appropriate documentation from third-party vendors according to internal, client, and investor policies
  • Review complete loan files and ensure documents are synchronized with each other and the loan application system
  • Scan hard-copy loan applications into the system/shared drive for document accessibility
  • Understand underwriting submission requirements before submission
  • Order required services and record requests in the systems
  • Follow up on ordered services to minimize time between ordering and receipt
  • Review underwriting conditions and coordinate with internal and external parties to address additional conditions for final approval
  • Coordinate with third parties and prospective borrowers to schedule loan settlement after final approval
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues both verbally and in writing

Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years related experience as a mortgage loan processor
  • Experience with high net worth/non-conforming/jumbo loans preferred
  • Ability to calculate income
  • Ability to review and interpret asset statement(s)
  • Ability to review, understand and detect any issues with Title
  • Ability to review, understand and detect any issues on Appraisals
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent and proven Mortgage skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrate analytical, organizational, and financial management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, multi-task, and prioritize
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to adapt/change as needed
  • Experience with FNMA guidelines
  • Ability to review and interpret DU findings
