Job Description
Mortgage loan specialist purchasing and reviewing third-party loans for U.S. Bank. Ensuring regulatory compliance, complete documentation, and secondary-market delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and purchase loans from third-party lenders
- Review loans for compliance with bank, regulatory and investor guidelines and customer service standards
- Determine loan acceptability
- Communicate with lenders, staff, title companies and others to resolve outstanding items
- Obtain necessary documentation and ensure completeness and accuracy
- Deliver loan packages to the Secondary/Pooling Unit for timely sale on the secondary market
- Package and submit government loan files to HUD/VA for insurance or guaranty
- Prepare required disclosure information within designated time frames and ensure regulatory compliance
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Typically three to five years of relevant experience
- Thorough knowledge of loan processing, closing and funding policies and procedures
- Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to interpret data
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Good data entry and mathematical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications
