Job Description
MV/HV Safety Manager overseeing electrical safety for SOLV Energy’s utility-scale solar, battery storage, and substation projects. Developing safety programs, training field teams, and ensuring OSHA compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, implement, and monitor Corporate Safety Programs at various project locations
- Perform all duties of a safety representative
- Provide electrical safety training and education
- Train safe work practices and company clearance and operational procedures in medium- and high-voltage environments
- Identify and train isolating procedures and grounding concepts
- Identify leading and lagging indicators
- Develop and implement job-specific safety plans and procedures
- Inspect job sites for Company Safety Program and OSHA compliance
- Provide emergency response plans for projects
- Arrange basic first aid training for job site personnel
- Investigate and analyze bodily injury and property damage accidents
- Lead investigations of near misses and reportable offenses
- Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors
- Compile and issue regular accident report summaries
- Communicate safety requirement updates and changes to employees
- Support project management personnel with training, assistance, or discipline regarding corporate safety guidelines
- Work with third-party safety verification platforms
- Develop regional safety training through onsite, local, and LMS-based training
- Create training and assist trainers for safety programs
- Observe and flag personnel for additional or follow-up training
- Participate in Corrective Action Plan development
- Review and revise Electrical Safety Program documents according to current industry codes and best practices
- Inspect and recertify regional live line tools
Requirements:
- Have or work to obtain safety certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or CUSP
- BS in Occupational safety and health or 7 years in safety solar safety experience
- 5 years’ experience in safety or safety related field
- Willing to travel 75%
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Through knowledge of NFPA 70e
- Ability to evaluate operations and maintenance work activities with respect to safety and loss control
- Ability to recognize and analyze company trends with respect to company accidents
