Job Description

National Account Director managing payer, trade, and specialty pharmacy relationships for AstraZeneca’s prescription medicines. Negotiating contracts and delivering patient access strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, influence, and negotiate with market access customers to achieve access and price aligned to MTP
  • Engage customers and influence various aspects within their organizations
  • Collaborate with external customers, AZ brand teams, and other functions to develop and implement patient service programs
  • Use data, scorecards, and analytics tools to monitor performance and drive contract and service performance of specialty pharmacies
  • Present, negotiate, and execute performance contracts with trade channels supporting supply and access for AZ brands
  • Present clinical information within company policy and product prescribing information to support utilization of AZ brands
  • Partner with Market Access, Sales, Operations, and Brand teams to achieve business objectives and resolve national account issues
  • Develop, implement, and execute strategic account plans delivering aligned business objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • High level of understanding of national account segments/channels, including payor, trade distribution network, and specialty pharmacy providers
  • National Trade, Distribution, Retail, Payer, and Specialty Account management experience strongly desired
  • Sales, sales leadership, field reimbursement, and regional account management experience
  • Ability to think conceptually, analytically, independently, and strategically
  • Overnight travel required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence without authority
  • Strong oral, written, and group communication skills with internal and external customers, including C-suite customers
  • Proficiency in managing and analyzing data to identify insights and opportunities for improvement
  • In-depth knowledge of AZ contract offerings and their applications
  • High level of knowledge of current reimbursement modalities, including AWP, WAC, ASP, and MAC pricing
  • In-depth knowledge of the marketplace, national account segment/channel marketing, and distribution strategy
  • Knowledge of payer environments, including PBM and payer-owned pharmacies
  • Managed Care/Market Access experience strongly desired, specifically with Ascent/ESI downstream accounts
  • Oncology/respiratory biologics experience preferred
