Job Description

Performance Tester/Platform Engineer building automated testing and cloud platforms for GDIT’s US Courts case-management modernization. Monitoring performance, optimizing systems, and supporting secure government workloads.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated performance testing frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications
  • Define and track performance KPIs including response time, throughput, resource utilization, latency, and error rates
  • Conduct load, stress, and scalability testing under multi-tenant and concurrent-user conditions
  • Develop and manage performance dashboards and provide executive- and technical-level reporting
  • Perform real-time monitoring, observability, and telemetry setup for application and infrastructure performance
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, SREs, and operations teams to identify bottlenecks and recommend optimizations
  • Validate critical workflows and use cases, including long-running queries, search operations, and API endpoints
  • Capture and report CPU, memory, disk, network, and application-specific log metrics
  • Contribute performance content to Monthly Status Reports and sprint-level documentation
  • Align performance testing strategy with DevSecOps and MLOps processes
  • Develop and execute formal performance test plans
  • Compose and maintain comprehensive test plans and reports
  • Verify and validate functionality against system requirements
  • Support IaaS and PaaS cloud solution resources for secure sensitive workloads
  • Design and implement server, network, and software configurations for cloud infrastructure and applications using DevOps principles
  • Work as part of an agile development team supporting modernization of enterprise-class software applications for the US Courts’ Case Management Modernization Program

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • At least 1 year deploying and managing applications and systems to commercial and private clouds
  • Experience in performance engineering and automated testing of cloud-based applications and platforms
  • Strong knowledge of JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter, or k6
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions
  • Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, or Elastic Stack
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices testing strategies
  • Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP performance characteristics
  • Experience with telemetry frameworks and logging standards
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of test data, identify trends, and drive root cause identification and tuning
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and participating in sprint ceremonies
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps using GitOps or similar tools
  • Experience developing, testing, and maintaining containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.
  • Working knowledge of source version control and build/release tools and methodologies
  • Extensive hands-on experience with test planning, test case/script writing, test case automation, performance test execution, and performance test result analysis
  • Familiarity with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS concepts and practices
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure migration methodologies and application migrations to AWS or Azure
  • Ability to obtain a position of Public Trust with the Administrative Office of the US Courts
  • Must be a US Person: Green Card Holder, US Permanent Resident Alien, Refugee, Asylee, or US Citizen
  • Less than 10% travel required
