Job Description

Eligibility Specialist responsible for benefits verification and documentation at Shields Health Solutions. Collaborating to ensure high-quality patient care and supporting specialty pharmacy services.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform benefits investigations and verify insurance coverage
  • Utilize approved tools, EMR systems, and Pharmacy Dispensing Systems (PDS)
  • Review patient medical records to confirm medication regimens
  • Accurately document investigation outcomes
  • Collaborate with team members to support high-quality patient care
  • Identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements
  • Participate in ongoing operational and performance improvement initiatives
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient and organizational information
  • Stay current through professional development and training
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills with ability to quickly learn EMR and PDS platforms
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity with ability to handle confidential healthcare data
  • Adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0–1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • State Pharmacy Technician License (required)
  • PTCB certification (required)
