Job Description
Platform Engineer building scalable Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure for Avaya’s enterprise communications software. Automating deployments, reliability, security, and platform operations through DevOps practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud platform solutions
- Apply infrastructure-as-code, automation, and configuration management practices
- Support and manage Docker and Kubernetes environments
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Jenkins CI/CD pipelines using GitOps practices
- Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and redundancy
- Collaborate with cloud operations and application engineering teams
- Implement and maintain platform security practices and controls
- Investigate platform issues, debug systems, and resolve complex technical problems
- Document platform architecture, configurations, operational procedures, and engineering practices
- Stay current with cloud-native technologies, DevOps practices, and platform engineering trends
Requirements:
- Proven experience in platform engineering, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or a related software engineering role
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies and modern platform architectures
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, Ansible, and Groovy
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of CI/CD methodologies and experience with Jenkins or Travis CI
- Solid understanding of GitOps principles and version-controlled infrastructure management
- Knowledge of networking concepts and services, including DNS, load balancing, and firewalls
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- 5–6 years of experience and a Bachelor degree or equivalent, or 4 years of experience and a Master degree or equivalent
