Job Description
Pre-Approval Manager overseeing residential mortgage processing for CrossCountry Mortgage, a distributed retail mortgage lender. Structuring loan programs, auditing borrower documentation, and supporting approvals.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between the organization’s internal and external clients
- Oversee and participate directly in the loan process from start to finish
- Communicate with borrowers to explain loan programs, costs, and applicable loan documents
- Review and audit income, assets, DU results, and credit documentation within mortgage files
- Review mortgage loan disclosure packages and deliver them to borrowers
- Assist in managing a pipeline of Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, 203k, Jumbo, and reverse mortgage loans
- Structure loans to identify the best program for each borrower’s financial circumstances
- Review files for missing documentation supporting approval
- Communicate loan programs and costs with borrowers
- Pre-underwrite paystubs, credit reports, W-2s, bank statements, court orders, and other documents
- Input disclosure feeds and set up loans to fit borrowers’ needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education/experience
- 3–5 years of residential mortgage processing experience
- Experience with Encompass LOS preferred
- Prior underwriting experience a plus
- Knowledge of RESPA guidelines and mortgage and consumer regulations
- Excellent math and analytics skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in DU, LP, Microsoft Outlook, and Windows
- A license is required to communicate loan programs and costs with borrowers
