Job Description
Principal Data Solutions Architect delivering secure cloud data architectures for Seriös Group’s enterprise clients. Leading consultancy, delivery, governance, analytics and AI initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver strategic and technical data consultancy across the full data lifecycle
- Shape and assure solutions spanning data strategy, governance, operating models, cloud platforms, integration, migration, analytics and AI
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand challenges, identify opportunities and present tailored data solutions
- Design and oversee technical architectures aligned with client objectives, industry standards and best practice
- Define and uphold principles, frameworks and standards for secure, scalable, resilient and cost-effective solutions
- Translate client requirements into target architectures, actionable roadmaps and assured solution designs
- Lead delivery from discovery through production by organising project teams, allocating resources and managing progress
- Coach, mentor and develop project teams and organisational capability
- Support pre-sales through scoping, estimation, proposals and presentations
- Identify opportunities to extend client engagements
- Apply relevant emerging technologies and methodologies to client solutions
- Ensure delivery excellence, quality standards, governance requirements and measurable business outcomes
Requirements:
- Proven ability to analyse complex business challenges and design effective, innovative data architectures and solutions
- Strong leadership skills with experience guiding project teams, mentoring colleagues and developing capability
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted client relationships
- Commercial awareness across multiple clients and sectors
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload, allocate resources and meet deadlines
- Experience designing cloud data platforms in Azure or AWS, or significant on-premise design experience
- 5+ years’ experience in data engineering, business intelligence or related roles
- Extensive ETL and data pipeline design experience
- Experience with cloud and data technologies including Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Function Apps, Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Glue, AWS S3, AWS Lambda Functions, AWS Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Alteryx, SSIS or Informatica
- Strong understanding of data warehouse and data lake principles
- Data modelling using Kimball, Inmon or Data Vault methodologies
- Experience with relational database platforms
- Advanced SQL skills
- Exposure to Python, R or Spark
- Awareness of AI and ML methodologies and their application in data solutions
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau
- Experience leading or mentoring junior data engineers, BI developers or consultants
- Experience as a technical lead using Agile or DevOps methodologies, including peer reviews and continuous improvement
- Experience using Jira or Azure DevOps
- Passion for technology and commitment to staying current with emerging tools, platforms and best practices in data and cloud
