Job Description
Principal Python Engineer building FastAPI APIs, Azure infrastructure, and scalable data solutions for HumanIT in Portugal. Deploying with Terraform, AKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Responsibilities:
- Build software services and APIs using Python, ideally FastAPI
- Design and maintain secure cloud infrastructure, including networking, WAF, and CDN
- Deploy scalable services using Terraform, Kubernetes (AKS), and Docker
- Implement end-to-end data solutions across real-time and batch architectures
- Work closely with leadership, including the CEO and COO, and clients
- Guide and teach others
- Use AI-assisted coding transparently
- Work in an agile, empathetic, self-organizing engineering environment
Requirements:
- Strong Python development skills
- Deep expertise in FastAPI and web service architecture
- Deep experience with Azure and cloud infrastructure, including networking, WAF, and CDN
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Strong hands-on experience with AKS/Kubernetes and Docker
- Solid understanding of engineering and architectural principles applied to infrastructure and data modeling
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical concepts to leadership and partners
- Fluent English required
- Occasional travel of 0–15% may be required depending on project and client needs
