Job Description
Principal software engineer building DIRECTV advertising platforms with Go, Python, and AWS. Designing cloud-native systems, leading delivery, and mentoring engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with peers to design advertising software solutions based on architecture, business, and system requirements
- Design and develop end-to-end solutions while managing dependencies and cross-team impacts
- Develop software using Go/Python and AWS cloud services
- Execute quality assurance testing to ensure designs and code meet requirements
- Follow software change deployment processes to deploy tested code into production
- Provide solution-based outcomes for varied complex problems
- Mentor junior team members on Scrum or development teams
- Manage risks and request leadership support when necessary
- Lead software engineering and full-stack development of complex systems
- Work in SAFe Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, using Jira
- Develop and deploy to cloud environments and AI-enabled tooling
- Deliver high-performance, accessible, and responsive applications
- Contribute to software architecture decisions and technical roadmaps
- Use AWS cloud services, Kubernetes, logging, monitoring, dashboarding, Shell scripting, Linux, databases, Snowflake, and SQL
- Support unit, pair, and system testing
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation
- Experience utilizing Go/Python and AWS cloud services tools and technologies
- Experience in software engineering and full-stack development of complex systems, including as a team lead
- Experience with SAFe Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and Jira
- Experience developing and deploying to cloud environments and AI-enabled tooling
- Experience delivering high-performance, accessible, and responsive applications using performance profiling and optimization techniques
- Experience with CI/CD, quality automation, test-driven development, and release strategies
- Experience contributing to software architecture decisions and technical roadmaps
- Experience with AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, EKS, SQS, Lambda, Kinesis, and IAM
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and dashboarding tools including SumoLogic, ELK/OpenSearch, and CloudWatch
- Shell scripting and Linux OS experience
- Experience with databases, Snowflake, and SQL
- Experience supporting unit, pair, and system testing
