Job Description
Principal Software Engineer owning Python, Ansible, packaging, and CI/CD for Infinidat’s enterprise storage automation portfolio. Managing integrations across operating systems, hypervisors, and containerized deployments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain Python CLI tools and shared domain libraries
- Develop and extend Infinidat Ansible Collection modules for InfiniBox volumes, hosts, clusters, exports, snapshots, network spaces, and more
- Maintain and evolve the IPAT performance alerting service as a Podman-managed containerized application
- Extend host and hypervisor integration across Linux, Windows, AIX, Solaris, VMware ESX/vCenter, Hyper-V, and Oracle Linux VM
- Maintain InfiniBox and InfiniMetrics REST API and InfiniSDK integrations
- Build AI-assisted exception triage pipelines
- Own Docker-based builder containers, RPM and DEB packaging, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and release tooling
- Manage release cycles from unstable through stable to external channels
- Publish Ansible Collection releases to Ansible Galaxy and the internal GitLab registry
- Design and maintain unit and acceptance test suites
- Investigate and root-cause field exceptions and own the triage-to-fix lifecycle
- Validate releases against the acceptance test matrix
- Maintain Jira workflow and release notes
- Keep technical documentation current
Requirements:
- At least 7 years of Python development with a focus on systems or CLI tooling, not web frameworks
- Enterprise storage background: block storage, NAS, replication, host connectivity via FC or iSCSI
- Strong Linux systems proficiency across multiple distributions, including RHEL/Rocky and Ubuntu
- Direct experience building and publishing RPM and DEB packages
- Experience with remote host communication via SSH, Paramiko or equivalent, and WinRM
- Container-based build and deployment experience with Docker and/or Podman
- CI/CD pipeline experience with GitLab CI or equivalent
- Strong written communication
- Ansible module or collection development experience preferred
- Familiarity with Ansible Galaxy publishing preferred
- Direct Infinidat InfiniBox or competitive enterprise array experience preferred
- Hypervisor integration experience with VMware ESX/vCenter, Hyper-V, or Oracle Linux VM preferred
- Windows and AIX host management preferred
- SQLAlchemy or similar Python ORM preferred
- AI-assisted tooling integration preferred
- Experience with Podman quadlets and systemd service management preferred
