Job Description
Principal Rust engineer building secure Agentic AI platform infrastructure for Legion Intelligence. Designing distributed systems, ML workflows, and high-performance backend components for government and enterprise customers.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop foundational components and frameworks that serve as the building blocks for the Agentic AI platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand needs and requirements and create platform solutions for developers
- Stay current with design patterns, techniques, and technologies relevant to platforms and frameworks
- Work closely with machine learning engineers to build infrastructure supporting ML workflows within enterprises
- Provide production support and troubleshooting to maintain smooth platform operation and address performance or scalability challenges
Requirements:
- US Citizenship or Greencard required due to US Government contract requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of software and platform engineering experience
- Strong track record designing and operating large-scale distributed systems
- Experience building platform infrastructure and backend systems serving multiple products and engineering teams
- Expert Rust experience designing and developing high-performance systems
- Expertise in database architecture and scalable data systems, including distributed databases, storage and indexing systems, data modeling and schema design, and high-throughput, low-latency data access patterns
- Experience designing systems supporting AI and machine learning workloads
- Familiarity with workflow engines, execution runtimes, and AI orchestration frameworks
- Start-up experience or comfort in 0→1 product environments
- Familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for platform deployment
