Job Description
Principal Software Engineer architecting scalable full-stack applications for Lennar, a leading U.S. homebuilder. Leading technical strategy, cloud-native development, performance optimization, and engineering team mentorship.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and guide the design and implementation of scalable, high-quality full-stack solutions
- Conduct architectural and code reviews and promote engineering best practices
- Champion CI/CD, DevOps, and agile development methodologies
- Design, develop, and maintain front-end and back-end application components
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create responsive and accessible interfaces
- Integrate front-end and back-end systems and optimize APIs and data flows
- Define and document modular, scalable software architecture
- Evaluate and implement cloud-native solutions and platform infrastructure
- Assess architectural decisions against business goals, technical debt, and emerging technologies
- Mentor and coach engineers and provide technical guidance on complex problems
- Partner with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business objectives
- Communicate technical strategies, progress, and challenges to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration and unified technology approaches
- Explore new technologies, frameworks, and development practices
- Lead proof of concepts and pilot projects
- Promote continuous improvement and delivery efficiencies
- Identify and resolve full-stack performance bottlenecks
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for platform availability and reliability
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- At least 10 years of experience in full-stack software development
- Proven track record of leading and delivering complex projects
- Experience in a principal or senior technical leadership role
- Experience guiding architecture and mentoring engineering teams
- Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
- Strong back-end development skills with Node.js, Python, or .NET
- Expertise in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architectures
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with Kubernetes or Docker
- Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work across teams and build stakeholder relationships
- Passion for technology and continuous improvement
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Commitment to high-quality software solutions
- Ability to operate computer equipment and perform the stated physical duties, including lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
