Job Description
Product Engineer building AI-powered property-management software for German property managers. Owning customer discovery, product decisions, and end-to-end TypeScript development remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Talk directly to German-speaking property-management customers
- Read support requests and feedback and analyze customer usage
- Decide what to build for the assigned area based on customer and company needs
- Document the rationale for product decisions
- Ship useful first versions early and improve them from customer feedback and behavior
- Build end-to-end features including data model, backend, frontend and UI
- Provide support for the assigned area and resolve customer issues
- Verify that shipped features solve customer problems and are being used
- Add support answers to the knowledge base and update internal agents for automation
- Build document-storage imports with customer folder structures and AI-assisted document classification
- Investigate and fix incorrect inbox-agent responses
- Simplify agent setup and measure adoption
- Identify repetitive property-manager workflows and reduce clicks
- Work with TypeScript, Convex, Next.js, React, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, Vercel AI SDK and LiveKit
- Use Claude and Cursor to build software
Requirements:
- Fluent German, spoken and written
- Fluent English
- More than a year of experience shipping production code
- Care about whether customers can get their work done
- Good eye for aesthetics and UI design
- Ability to evaluate and refine AI-generated interfaces
- Finish features until they work well
- Form opinions on what to build and support them with customer evidence
- Take feedback well and give honest feedback
- Write clearly in issues, short proposals and PR descriptions
- Understand the basics of the business, including customers, pricing and retention
- Write almost all code with AI and understand architecture well enough to judge AI-generated code
- Prefer automation over repeating tasks
- Generalist who learns new things quickly
- Nice to have: own product or side project used by real people, or direct customer experience
- Nice to have: database design and query performance/cost optimization
- Nice to have: production agents, queues and long-running workflows
