Job Description
EPC-Management-Projektingenieur für Renergos große Solar-, BESS- und Windenergieprojekte. Technische Steuerung, Vertragsverhandlungen und Abnahmen für Anlagen der Energiewende.
Responsibilities:
- Overall technical responsibility for EPC management of PV and BESS projects as the central technical authority (Owner’s Engineer)
- Collaboration with Renergo’s existing project managers
- Development and enforcement of internal technical standards and specifications
- Technical evaluation of solutions and components, including battery storage technologies, manufacturers, degradation curves, and system design
- Oversight and acceptance throughout the entire project lifecycle, including FAT, site inspections, and on-site acceptance testing
- Collaboration with EPC contractors and subcontractors
- Management of EPC negotiations for complex supply and EPC contracts, including technical specifications and payment terms
- Coordination with the commercial team and project management
- Support with technical planning and bills of quantities, particularly grid connection, cable route, and PV design
- Direct reporting to executive management
- Establishment and development of the EPC management function as its first hire
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in EPC management, Owner’s Engineering, or technical project delivery of utility-scale PV and/or battery storage (BESS) projects in Germany – career changers will not be considered
- Completed degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering, civil engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Strong technical expertise in PV and/or BESS systems, components, and manufacturers
- Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and construction acceptance inspections
- Experience negotiating and drafting complex supply/EPC contracts, including payment terms
- Established network and in-depth market knowledge of the German PV/BESS sector
- Willingness to travel for on-site appointments, including construction sites, supplier meetings, and FATs
- Fluent German and English, with strong negotiation skills in both languages
- Independent, accountable working style and the willingness to take on genuine responsibility
