Job Description

Project Management Specialist supporting LMI’s VA suicide prevention and mental health program. Coordinating federal workstreams, deliverables, Agile activities, documentation, and stakeholder follow-through.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Program Managers and Project Managers across multiple projects and workstreams
  • Maintain project schedules, calendars, trackers, action logs, risk and issue logs, decision records, and other project artifacts
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, agendas, minutes, action items, and follow-up
  • Maintain visibility into priorities, milestones, deadlines, dependencies, and decisions
  • Coordinate inputs for contract deliverables, status reports, program reviews, leadership briefings, and client-facing materials
  • Develop and maintain PowerPoint presentations, Excel trackers, dashboards, and project-management materials
  • Organize project documentation in SharePoint
  • Support onboarding and offboarding, including VA access, systems, tools, documentation, and orientation
  • Assist with Agile delivery activities, sprint planning, backlog coordination, Scrum or Kanban ceremonies, and Jira or Azure DevOps maintenance
  • Support requirements gathering, user needs, acceptance criteria, and project decisions
  • Coordinate across technical, analytical, and program teams
  • Support project-management activities for Power Platform, Power BI, Power Apps, SharePoint, analytics, data, and program evaluation workstreams
  • Proofread and quality-check client deliverables
  • Support internal reporting, program management reviews, quarterly reviews, staffing updates, and leadership briefings
  • Identify missing information, process gaps, deadlines, risks, and follow-up needs
  • Own assigned tasks and smaller initiatives through completion
  • Facilitate meetings and coordinate activities when project leadership is unavailable
  • Improve project processes, documentation, reporting, and team coordination
  • Gradually take on increased responsibility for project planning, client interaction, Agile delivery, and workstream management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, public administration, information systems, technology, public health, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, project management, consulting, program operations, business operations, or a related role
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and competing priorities
  • Ability to work effectively where requirements or direction may not be fully defined
  • Proactive self-starter mindset and ability to move work forward with limited direction
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality work
  • Experience developing meeting agendas, capturing minutes, maintaining action items, and coordinating follow-through
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Ability to develop professional, client-ready presentations, trackers, reports, and other project materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and willingness to take ownership
  • Interest in technology-enabled programs and willingness to learn technical delivery concepts and tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required background investigation or Public Trust
