Job Description
Project Manager leading client penetration testing engagements across web, mobile, infrastructure, and cloud for Packetlabs. Owning delivery, client communication, scope management, and PMO improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Own a portfolio of concurrent penetration testing engagements for small to medium-sized businesses across web, mobile, infrastructure, and cloud
- Lead internal pre-engagement discussions and ensure projects are realistic and well-defined before kickoff
- Build detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations
- Manage scope changes, schedule adjustments, and budget impacts with documentation and client communication
- Identify and mitigate project risks before they affect delivery
- Coordinate deliverables across delivery, operations, and marketing teams
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout the engagement lifecycle
- Run client kickoffs, status updates, and delivery debriefs
- Set clear expectations, provide proactive updates, and navigate high-stakes security conversations
- Handle difficult conversations professionally and escalate issues appropriately
- Contribute to PMO processes, templates, and tooling improvements
- Maintain accurate project documentation and tracking
- Identify engagement patterns that could improve scoping, delivery, or communication
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of project management experience in an IT services, consulting, or professional services environment
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent client engagements independently
- Strong client-facing skills, including scoping calls, scope-change conversations, and CIO debriefs
- Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget across project lifecycles
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Clear written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong organizational discipline and early issue escalation
- Self-sufficient and dependable in a remote environment
- Customer-first mentality and strong follow-through
- Ability to handle difficult conversations, scope changes, timeline pressure, scheduling conflicts, and escalations
- Valued but not required: Experience in cybersecurity, penetration testing, or infosec consulting
- Valued but not required: PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum certification
- Valued but not required: Bachelor's degree in business, IT, communications, or related field
- Valued but not required: Familiarity with PCI-DSS, SOC 2, NIST, or ISO 27001
- Valued but not required: Experience with Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or similar tools
- Valued but not required: Background working with technical consultants or engineering teams
- Ability to manage penetration testing engagements across web, mobile, infrastructure, and cloud
- Ongoing development of cybersecurity literacy and understanding of penetration testing deliverables
