Job Description
Project Manager leading industrial water and wastewater design projects for Brown and Caldwell, an environmental engineering and construction services firm. Managing scope, schedules, budgets, risks, quality, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and oversee mid-sized to large industrial water and wastewater design projects
- Manage facility planning, design, construction engineering, and related project tasks
- Lead project planning, scheduling, delivery, and multidisciplinary teams
- Develop and execute project plans covering quality, schedule, milestones, resources, and budget
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and delays, and implement corrective actions
- Define project scope, objectives, resources, schedules, budgets, and success factors
- Establish communication methods for team standups, technical/design decisions, and client interactions
- Prepare scopes of work, assumptions, limitations, work breakdown structures, schedules, and budgets
- Manage quality, change, risk, health and safety, and external resources/vendors
- Monitor profitability through earned value analysis, revenue forecasting, and invoicing/collections
- Build client relationships and support client service, sales, marketing, and proposals
- Collaborate with business-unit design leaders and the chief engineer on delivery practices
- Provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to less experienced team members
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience managing mid-size to large projects with progressively increasing responsibility
- Experience developing and monitoring moderate project schedules
- Experience developing and monitoring moderate project budgets
- Competency in risk management
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Experience in project planning, risk management, change management, and contract management for mid-size projects
- Specialized project management experience delivering client solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or equivalent relevant experience required
- Strong ability in design process leadership
- Experience working on private-sector water, wastewater, or infrastructure design
- Professional Engineer certification preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management tools and techniques
- Knowledge of budget, risk, contract, change, quality, and safety management
- Strong business acumen and client service skills
- Proven team/staff management and client relationship skills
