Job Description
Project Manager leading utility-scale solar EPC projects for CoVolt Power, a renewable energy company. Managing budgets, schedules, safety, quality, clients, subcontractors, and project teams through final acceptance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all project activities from contract award through final client acceptance
- Ensure execution aligns with design requirements, construction best practices, budget constraints, and schedule commitments
- Participate in preconstruction, including estimating, constructability reviews, and buyout support
- Engage field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to solve project problems
- Champion safety standards, OSHA compliance, hazard identification, mitigation planning, and safety improvement
- Coordinate with Quality to ensure project specifications, inspections, and corrective actions are addressed
- Maintain cost reports, forecasts, financial projections, and project budgets
- Manage labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, and change events
- Administer submittals, RFIs, change orders, notices, and closeout documentation
- Support financial reporting with explanations of trends, risks, and variances
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules
- Identify critical path activities and manage recovery plans
- Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal partners
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop project staff
- Support succession planning and development of future project leaders
- Identify project risks and drive mitigation across safety, quality, schedule, commercial, and technical domains
- Escalate high-impact risks to senior leadership
- Provide transparent reporting on progress, risks, financials, and milestones
- Prepare and lead internal and external project meetings
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Deep understanding of EPC construction practices, renewable energy technologies, and utility-scale solar installations
- Knowledge of construction safety standards, OSHA requirements, and environmental compliance
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply IFC drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in project management tools such as P6 and MS Project
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems
- High level of initiative, ownership, and adaptability
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in utility-scale solar or large-scale renewable energy projects
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, renewable energy, or relevant field preferred
- PMP Certification preferred
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification preferred
- First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
- Must comply with the interview policy prohibiting AI note-takers, recording devices, and real-time transcription software
