Job Description
React Native Engineer building iOS and Android features for Wahed’s shariah-compliant digital finance platform. Maintaining performance, testing, native integrations, and React Native feature parity.
Responsibilities:
- Build pixel-perfect, smooth user interfaces across iOS and Android
- Engineer new mobile features across maintained mobile applications and platforms
- Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with other platforms
- Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks
- Maintain a versioned codebase and write automated unit tests
- Transition existing features to React Native to maintain feature parity
- Collaborate as part of an Agile team
- Work independently on individual assignments
- Cooperate with development teams to create API specification outlines for front-end and back-end divisions
Requirements:
- At least 2 years commercial experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, including ES6+ syntax and React Native
- Knowledge of object-oriented and functional programming
- Comfortable using third-party packages for React and React Native
- Ability to write well-documented, clean JavaScript code
- Experience working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
- Familiarity with native build tools, including XCode, Gradle, and Android Studio
- Proficiency debugging, building, and working in XCode and Android Studio
- Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
- Experience with automated testing suites such as Detox and Jest
- Familiarity with Git, repository maintenance, branches, Git commands, pull requests, and resolving merge conflicts
- Eagerness and openness to learning new technologies
- General understanding of Swift, Objective-C, and Java
- Understanding of standards and rules regulated by the Apple Developer/Connect system
- An app hosted publicly in the Google or Apple app stores is desirable
