Job Description

Resource Manager optimizing technical, project management, engineering, and Managed Services talent for Presidio. Forecasting capacity, matching employees to projects, and guiding internal-first staffing for a global IT solutions provider.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a real-time view of Managed Services resource availability, capacity, and utilization across business units and practices
  • Identify under- and over-utilization trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Build and maintain a skills inventory database covering capabilities, certifications, and development goals
  • Forecast resource demand 4–12 weeks ahead with project managers and delivery leads
  • Facilitate weekly or bi-weekly resource planning meetings with department heads and practice leads
  • Champion an internal-first staffing philosophy before external recruitment
  • Define thresholds with HR and talent acquisition for external hiring or contracting
  • Match bench-eligible, under-allocated, or growth-seeking employees to suitable assignments
  • Maintain an internal candidate pipeline for anticipated needs
  • Serve as primary liaison among delivery teams, people managers, HR, and leadership
  • Communicate resourcing decisions and escalate conflicts or capacity constraints with proposed solutions
  • Manage staffing vendors, contractors, and contingent workforce partners when needed
  • Track contractor spending and internal cost comparisons
  • Ensure external hires are contracted at competitive market rates
  • Develop resource utilization dashboards and leadership reports
  • Track utilization, bench time, internal versus external time-to-fill, and skill-gap trends
  • Provide forecasting reports for headcount planning and budget cycles
  • Identify resource-gap patterns and inform workforce development and hiring strategy

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience specifically in Resource Management
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a Managed Services provider environment
  • Experience managing resources across technical, project management, and operations functions
  • Data-driven mindset with experience building utilization reports and capacity forecasts
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive workforce conversations with discretion and empathy
  • Familiarity with cloud technology roles and skill sets, including Azure, AWS, infrastructure, and DevOps
  • PMI, PMP, or ITIL certification is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies
  • Ability to balance short-term project needs with long-term workforce development goals
  • Ability to build trust with project leaders, people managers, HR, and executives
  • Ability to clearly articulate trade-offs, decisions, and forecasts to varied audiences
  • Ability to turn utilization and capacity data into actionable recommendations
  • Must be situated within the Continental US
  • Willingness to travel approximately 5%
