Job Description

RFP & Proposal Writer at Speer Technologies supporting grant applications and RFP submissions in a fast-paced, remote role open to Canadian candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify grant, RFP, and funding opportunities aligned with Speer's focus areas and strategic goals
  • Lead the full RFP response process, including coordinating timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder input across teams
  • Write, edit, and format compelling proposals, applications, and supporting documents
  • Tailor each submission to highlight Speer's strengths, differentiators, and unique capabilities
  • Ensure all submissions meet technical, content, and formatting requirements while maintaining a high standard of quality across concurrent proposals
  • Maintain a repository of commonly used documents, templates, and case studies for reuse across proposals
  • Stay updated on industry trends, funding programs, and best practices in grant writing and procurement
  • Create internal timelines and checklists to meet critical deadlines
  • Organize meetings, gather required information, and ensure clarity on submission requirements
  • Track and report on the status of submissions and outcomes to inform future strategy

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of writing winning grants, RFPs, or other funding proposals
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and professional content
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and requirements without missing a beat
  • Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to take ownership of work and anticipate needs before they arise
  • Strategic thinker who can quickly grasp new concepts and tailor writing to different audiences and opportunities
  • Collaborative partner who works well with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather insights and strengthen proposals
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment where priorities shift quickly and innovation is constant
  • Solid project management skills with experience coordinating cross-functional deliverables
  • Nice to Haves: Knowledge of Canadian and international funding programs relevant to health tech, AI, or deep tech
  • Familiarity with data-driven proposal strategies, compliance frameworks, or procurement regulations
  • Experience with Figma
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
