Job Description

Sales Engineer managing HellermannTyton automotive OEM accounts in the Bay Area. Growing electric-vehicle electrification and fluid-routing product opportunities through technical customer support.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current customer relationships and identify potential growth with established and new electric vehicle market customers
  • Serve as key account manager for a major electric vehicle company and several smaller accounts
  • Act as main point of contact for product selections and opportunity generation
  • Coordinate and align domestically and globally for relevant opportunities
  • Expand HellermannTyton's position in low-voltage and high-voltage vehicle electrification systems and fluid routing opportunities
  • Uncover opportunities in standard, platform-based, and custom products
  • Attend and lead selected customer-facing meetings to drive product specifications
  • Support business direction with vetted information and strategic clarity
  • Work with customer engineering teams to assess plastic fasteners/clips for wiring harnesses and fluid routings, offer substitutions, and deliver improved offerings
  • Convert technical drawings, documents, and automotive testing requirements into recommendations and next steps
  • Leverage OEM specifications for standard parts to gain market share
  • Follow and improve process flows for efficient multi-stakeholder direction and understanding of actions and commitments
  • Manage customers' current and upcoming platforms and develop sales plans aligned with customer goals
  • Maintain familiarity with competitors' products and identify opportunities
  • Communicate status, actions, milestones, and activities to key stakeholders
  • Discern project opportunities and roadblocks and drive results for increased sales
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, product management, and engineering teams

Requirements:

  • BS from an accredited four-year college or university, engineering discipline preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • 5+ years of professional experience demonstrating mechanical and engineering aptitude, along with successful key customer responsibility
  • Automotive Industry Experience required
  • Knowledge of plastic fasteners is preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and adequate insurance
  • Minimal travel involved
