Job Description

Sales Manager growing Sumitomo’s industrial drive technology after-sales and service business across Northwest France. Managing customer relationships, field visits, technical offers, negotiations, and orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Sumitomo’s after-sales service, project, series production, and distribution activities
  • Build long-term business relationships with existing, new, and prospective customers in Northwestern France
  • Manage the entire after-sales customer journey to ensure a satisfactory customer experience
  • Coordinate regional activities with support teams
  • Manage existing accounts and develop sales in France, both directly and through business partners
  • Define target applications, industries, and customers
  • Retain existing customers, acquire profitable new customers, and develop lasting relationships
  • Organize and conduct customer visits, present the company and its products, and generate interest
  • Assess applications and analyze failures
  • Determine the appropriate equipment, calculate pricing, and prepare quotations
  • Lead commercial negotiations
  • Collaborate with factories and the internal sales department
  • Initiate approved orders for processing by the factories
  • Support factories in order processing and complaint management
  • Monitor markets and trends and report findings to management
  • Support management in preparing the annual budget and monthly order intake forecasts

Requirements:

  • Solid experience required, including at least 2–3 years of relevant sales experience in an industrial B2B environment
  • Experience in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or mechanical power transmission, ideally in an engineering or maintenance role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business tools, such as Salesforce CRM
  • Excellent professional network and the ability to act as a true business partner
  • Ability to understand customers, their applications, markets, and needs
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Analytical, organized, and structured mindset
  • Good stress-management skills
  • Willingness to travel within France and, if necessary, occasionally in Europe
  • Fluency in French and English required
  • An engineering degree is not required
