Job Description

Architectural sales representative growing ASSA ABLOY door, hardware, and access-control specifications. Advising architects through BIM tools, technical support, and specification-led sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with architects, designers, and other decision makers
  • Drive specification-led sales growth for door, hardware, and access control solutions
  • Position solutions early in the design phase and maintain specification preference through project completion
  • Identify, secure, and protect door and hardware specifications
  • Manage a pipeline of specification-driven opportunities from design inception through bidding, award, and installation
  • Deliver technical guidance and accurate deliverables to design teams
  • Execute continuing education (CEU) programs to increase product awareness and strengthen relationships
  • Lead product substitution, approval, and value-engineering efforts during bidding
  • Collaborate with distribution partners, sales representatives, and internal teams to convert specifications into orders
  • Use Salesforce.com to track customer engagement, manage opportunities, and forecast activity
  • Provide specification support and services to architectural firms
  • Serve as point of contact for architect education, specification, client satisfaction, and technical support
  • Manage architectural development and project tracking for Division 08 specifications
  • Promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool and present professional-services proposals

Requirements:

  • College/University degree preferred, with related specializations such as architectural, design/engineering/drafting, construction science/management, business, or similar, or minimum high school/GED diploma with commensurate work experience
  • At least 2-3 years’ industry-related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting
  • Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus
  • Ability to read and understand specifications/facility standards
  • Industry-related technical and sales aptitude
  • Ability to travel within an assigned territory and meet customer requirements
  • Ability to work in a home office environment or while traveling
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material
  • Strong communication, active listening, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
