Job Description
SAP ABAP developer building and supporting Transportation Management solutions for an IT services company. Developing TM functionality, integrations, interfaces, and S/4HANA extensions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, enhance, and support SAP ABAP solutions for SAP Transportation Management (TM)
- Collaborate with SAP TM functional consultants to translate functional specifications into technical solutions
- Develop and enhance TM functionality involving Freight Units, Freight Orders, Freight Bookings, Transportation Requests, Charges, Planning, and Execution processes
- Develop and support interfaces and integrations across SAP and external systems
- Develop and enhance Adobe Forms, output solutions, reports, workflows, background jobs, and custom applications
- Debug and analyze complex TM technical issues across integrated systems
- Analyze and optimize performance of ABAP programs, CDS views, database queries, interfaces, and batch processes
- Prepare technical specification documents based on functional specification documents
- Conduct code reviews and ensure Clean Core and ABAP Cloud-ready development compliance
- Perform technical unit testing and support FUT, SIT, UAT, defect resolution, cutover, and production stabilization
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior ABAP developers
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP ABAP for SAP Transportation Management (TM)
- Experience with BOPF, including determinations, validations, actions, queries, and enhancements
- Experience with ABAP Objects (OO ABAP), CDS Views, AMDP, RAP/OData services, and S/4HANA development technologies
- Strong experience with Enhancement Framework, BAdIs, enhancement spots, implicit/explicit enhancements, Custom Fields and Logic (CFL), and S/4HANA extensibility approaches
- Experience developing and supporting interfaces using IDocs, RFCs, APIs, web services, OData, proxies, and SAP CPI/Integration Suite
- Experience integrating SAP TM with S/4HANA SD, MM, EWM, and FI modules
- Experience developing Adobe Forms, output solutions, reports, workflows, background jobs, and custom applications
- Experience debugging and performing root-cause analysis of complex TM technical issues across integrated systems
- Experience with performance analysis and optimization of ABAP programs, CDS views, database queries, interfaces, and batch processes
- Ability to prepare Technical Specification Documents (TSDs) from approved Functional Specification Documents (FSDs)
- Ability to perform code reviews and comply with SAP S/4HANA Clean Core and ABAP Cloud-ready development principles
- Ability to perform technical unit testing and support FUT/SIT/UAT, defect resolution, cutover, and production stabilization
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior ABAP developers
