Job Description
School Counselor at Louisiana Virtual Charter Academy providing preventive services and guidance for student success. Collaborating with teaching staff and families to foster students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Responsibilities:
- Promote student success by providing preventive services and implementing a comprehensive school counseling program
- Plan for postsecondary options for students
- Review graduation plans and post-secondary options quarterly
- Collaborate with teaching staff on four-year graduation plans
- Analyze student data for intervention plans
- Provide short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support
- Support standardized testing program and staff development
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement
- School Counselor License
- Ability to clear required background check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexible schedule
- Master's degree in school counseling (preferred)
- Experience with distance learning (preferred)
- Experience as a teacher (preferred)
