Job Description
Senior Accounting Manager owning GAAP close, consolidation, technical accounting, and finance systems. Scaling accounting operations for Firework’s AI-powered video-commerce platform.
Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and drive an accurate, efficient GAAP close process
- Lead global consolidation across legal entities, currencies, and jurisdictions, including intercompany accounting and eliminations
- Own technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, complex transactions, accounting policy, and GAAP interpretation
- Prepare and review internal and external financial reporting
- Lead the evolution of accounting systems, integrations, and financial data architecture
- Reduce manual processes and improve financial controls and visibility
- Partner with People Operations on global payroll accounting, reconciliations, controls, and provider coordination
- Oversee finance administration, including banking, treasury administration, entity support, expenses, vendors, and documentation
- Lead the external financial statement audit and manage audit readiness, schedules, documentation, and auditor relationships
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, controls, and documentation
- Partner with business leaders to support decision-making through accurate financial reporting
- Identify and resolve financial, accounting, systems, and process risks
- Lead a lean finance organization and develop direct reports through systems, automation, standards, and clear ownership
Requirements:
- Active CPA required
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Significant experience owning close, consolidation, reporting, and technical accounting
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Ability to independently research and resolve complex accounting matters
- Experience in a post-Series B or later-stage, high-growth technology company
- Experience with global entities, multi-entity consolidation, intercompany transactions, and international accounting operations
- Strong experience with revenue recognition and advanced accounting topics relevant to SaaS or technology businesses
- Experience owning annual external audits and audit readiness
- Strong understanding of accounting systems, ERP environments, integrations, and financial data flows
- Highly technical and AI-savvy
- Track record of using automation and technology to improve finance operations
- Experience partnering with People Operations on payroll, ideally across multiple countries or payroll providers
- Experience managing and developing accounting professionals in a lean operating environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to move between strategic issues, technical accounting, systems architecture, and hands-on execution
- Comfort operating where processes are evolving and infrastructure must be built
- Ability to work U.S. business hours
