Job Description

Senior Costing Analyst optimizing seasonal garment costing, vendor negotiations, and product profitability for VF’s global apparel brands. Driving standardized, data-driven sourcing processes in Hanoi.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage costing operations for seasonal product development across VF brands, products, and countries
  • Partner with sourcing development, brand stakeholders, product sourcing teams, and vendors to modernize and standardize costing approaches
  • Support data-driven, automated, efficient, harmonized, and scalable costing processes
  • Collaborate with product sourcing and development teams on designing products to cost and achieving product cost savings
  • Champion connectivity and information sharing across vendors and cross-functional sourcing, brand, material, and planning stakeholders
  • Manage seasonal development costing milestones and activities
  • Lead vendor negotiations using fact-based costing methodologies and product engineering to improve profitability
  • Provide FOB and landed costing perspectives to support vendor allocation and sourcing strategies
  • Ensure costing process adherence across costing operations teams and vendors
  • Track and report key metrics related to performance, efficiency, and transparency
  • Demonstrate leadership and promote performance, collaboration, and partnership across the product supply organization
  • Improve costing productivity and efficiency by eliminating redundancies, automating repetitive tasks, and optimizing processes
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional initiatives and conduct analyses, producing deliverables in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial garment manufacturing, buying office, or trading company
  • Ability to understand technical specifications, Bills of Materials, and garment constructions
  • Knowledge of fabric weaving, constructions, and different dyeing processes is a plus
  • Knowledge of embellishments including print techniques, embroidery, and quilting is a plus
  • Experience in sweater knits and accessories is an advantage
  • Ability to influence and drive consensus
  • Experience adopting change, business process redesign, or process reengineering
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and reasoning skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adopt new methods, tools, and technologies
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills: diplomatic, open, good listener, direct, and succinct
  • Oral and written fluency in English
