Job Description
Senior Bank Reconciliation Analyst managing custodial and clearing-account reconciliations for Selene Holdings’ mortgage servicing business. Ensuring regulatory compliance, resolving discrepancies, and improving reconciliation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute Selene’s compliance with investor, agency, and regulatory requirements for reconciliation and clearing of outstanding reconciling items for assigned bank accounts
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, company finance policies, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Perform reconciliations in compliance with company, investor, and regulatory guidelines
- Reconcile PI & TI custodial accounts for investors, including FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, Private MBS, or Special Servicing
- Reconcile Payment & Disbursement Clearing Accounts and promptly clear outages
- Prepare complex reconciliations and tests of cash
- Reconcile accounts and items within required 30-day timeframes
- Monitor relevant bank reconciliation requirement changes
- Ensure timely reconciliation and resolution of aged items in assigned bank accounts
- Maintain and apply internal controls to prevent fraud and misallocation of funds
- Develop department process flows and identify and remediate process gaps
- Liaise with departments, IT, and vendors on process issues and system enhancements
- Facilitate and execute ad-hoc Bank Reconciliation reporting
- Manage remediation of outstanding reconciling items and ensure timely, accurate corrective application
- Develop and maintain testing validation documentation for Bank Reconciliation process and system enhancements
- Retrieve Bank Reconciliation KPI analytics using MSP Passport and Monarch reporting tools
- Partner with internal and external business partners to perform Bank Reconciliation functions
- Assist with vendor and investor relationship management
- Execute other assigned duties
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience with payment & disbursement clearing account reconciliation, P&I/T&I, and bank reconciliation in mortgage servicing
- Ability to multitask while working independently or within a group environment
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, ambiguous, short-turnaround-time environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior analytical and research skills with ability to synthesize data
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Advanced MS Office Suite skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proficient data retrieval skills using internal system tools
- Datawatch or Monarch experience
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- MSP Passport experience a plus
- Analytical skills to research and resolve reconciling item discrepancies
- Common-sense reasoning skills for problem solving and account reconciliation
- Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize workflow
- Ability to interact effectively with departments, management, and vendor liaisons
- Strong mathematical and reasoning skills
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and promote new technologies based on line-of-business needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to understand technical and non-technical users’ needs
- Strategic thinking with solid business and financial acumen
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with people at all levels and skill sets
- Ability to execute deliverables with limited to no management guidance
