Job Description

Senior Buyer steuert strategischen Einkauf für AlphaPets Online-Heimtiergeschäft. Verantwortlich für Lieferanten, Ausschreibungen, Verhandlungen, Spend-Analysen und AI-gestützte Sourcing-Workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Independent management of designated suppliers and product categories
  • Develop and manage supplier scorecards for on-time delivery, quality and cost
  • Sustainable supplier development
  • Conduct structured tenders and lead negotiations and renegotiations of terms
  • Actively mitigate price increases and apply data-driven price pressure
  • Build and maintain spend transparency
  • Create benchmarks, price analyses and forecasting at the product-category level
  • Reporting and KPI management to the VP and COO
  • Perform LLM-supported market research and contract review
  • Automate recurring sourcing workflows
  • Help shape modern, data-driven sourcing methods
  • Systematically further develop strategic procurement

Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience in strategic procurement, ideally in FMCG / petfood / food
  • Independent responsibility for tenders and negotiations with volumes in the double-digit million euro range
  • Experience with data-driven sourcing methods and market intelligence
  • Confidence in managing critical suppliers
  • Affinity for AI and a data-driven mindset
  • Fluent use of modern data and AI tools
  • Hands-on, assertive and results-oriented
  • Fluent German and English (negotiation-level)
  • Scale-up or private equity-backed experience (nice-to-have)
  • Petfood-specific raw material and packaging knowledge (nice-to-have)
  • Experience building supplier scorecard systems (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with AI-supported sourcing workflows such as contract review, tender creation and negotiation preparation (nice-to-have)
  • Experience working in remote-first teams (nice-to-have)
