Job Description
Senior Contract Director managing Ethicon contracts, pricing, and account strategy for large U.S. health systems. Supporting Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech Surgery business and traveling domestically approximately 60%.
Responsibilities:
- Lead operational aspects and execution of contractual management within aligned large health systems
- Coordinate with Field Sales Leadership, Commercial Strategy & Execution, Source-View, Offer Development, Legal, Healthcare Compliance, Finance, and other internal partners
- Manage contracting, pricing, and daily management of Ethicon Platforms across approximately 6–12 large health system customers
- Support account strategy development with Area Leadership and local FSO teams
- Manage contract operations to accelerate revenue growth, improve price performance, support NPIs, and manage erosion
- Serve as a SourceView super user across aligned IDNs and support key IDNs with SourceView opportunities
- Monitor contract compliance and performance goals using SourceView/Optimizer analytics
- Engage KAM leadership to negotiate contractual offers or changes
- Provide health-system access for focus product categories and new product introductions
- Build and maintain relationships with economic decision makers, Supply Chain, Value Analysis Committees, and other system-wide decision-making committees
- Manage RFPs, contract renewals, deal creation, and contract delivery
- Partner with AVP/RSM on final contract-term negotiations approved by Contract Management
- Collaborate with the overall IDN account team toward broader Ethicon goals
- Co-create contract strategy and pricing across Ethicon platforms and product lines
- Understand Ethicon products, offerings, strategies, and business objectives
Requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required
- 7+ years of proven experience is required
- Solid understanding of the U.S. healthcare market, including industry trends, customer dynamics, and legal and compliance requirements
- Financial competence; understanding of gross profit, erosion, and pricing impact
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups with an enterprise mentality
- Ability to process multiple, sophisticated, and often conflicting inputs to build executable contract strategy
- Strong analytical skills
- Highly effective interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage differing opinions and perspectives
- Relevant product knowledge, including Ethicon Platforms and capital
- Experience in contracting, marketing, sales, or sales management preferred
- Ability to travel domestically approximately 60%
