Job Description
Core banking portfolio manager leading delivery, integration, and production ownership of KeyBank’s trading and portfolio platforms. Managing technology teams, vendors, governance, reliability, and modernization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a team of internal and external technology professionals
- Own end-to-end delivery and production ownership for portfolio modeling, rebalancing, trading, subscription, and financial data provider platforms
- Establish delivery governance and agile/waterfall ways of working
- Partner with Product Management to align priorities, scope, and outcomes
- Lead cross-functional delivery across Technology, Product, Operations, and vendors
- Manage plans, cutovers, dependencies, risks, test readiness, and releases
- Develop the platform roadmap, including modernization and integration/API strategy
- Provide technical oversight for architecture and integrations across mainframe and distributed platforms and downstream reporting
- Advance the core banking technology stack and integrate modern technology into core banking workflows
- Integrate core banking data and events into enterprise portfolio workflows
- Govern data lineage, quality, and timing across core banking processes
- Own and report on platform stability, reliability, resilience, performance/latency, capacity, and recovery planning
- Implement observability through monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing
- Drive stability and backlog initiatives
- Lead incident/problem management, on-call readiness, and root-cause analysis
- Ensure high-quality releases and cutovers with rollback plans
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Security to deliver controls and remediation
- Select and govern vendors and partners, including contracts, SLAs, and delivery quality
- Manage personnel and software expenses to the financial plan
Requirements:
- Led delivery of integrated vendor and/or internally built trading/portfolio management platforms from requirements/vendor selection through implementation, cutover, and production support
- Technical depth to review designs, challenge assumptions, and make tradeoffs across performance, resiliency, data quality, and security
- Experience governing agile/waterfall delivery, testing strategy, release/change, environments, observability, and incident/problem management
- 7+ years delivering and operating core banking system technology, with ownership of production platforms and releases
- 7+ years leading technology teams, including hiring, performance management, and coaching
- Strong influencing and communication skills, with the ability to partner and negotiate at senior leadership levels
- Ability to lead high-risk system delivery, including cutover planning, change control, and release readiness
- Strong production mindset covering reliability, performance/latency, recovery, and incident/problem management
- Ability to partner with Product and the Chief Investment Office to translate strategy into roadmaps and execution
- Ability to maintain data integrity and control in a regulated environment
