Job Description
Senior Data Engineer building Progress Partners’ foundational Lakehouse for global SaaS and mobile platforms. Designing AWS/GCP pipelines across payments, marketing, and operational data.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build ingestion pipelines for high-volume payment data from Stripe, PayPal, and Solidgate.
- Integrate marketing analytics from GA4, GTM, Google Ads, and Amplitude.
- Integrate operational data from MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Build AWS and GCP infrastructure for a Lakehouse.
- Build Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion-layer transformation models in dbt using BigQuery.
- Own Airflow orchestration end-to-end, including lineage, sensors, backfills, retries, alerting, and the full asset graph.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code best practices and cost controls.
- Build the foundational data platform architecture from scratch.
- Collaborate asynchronously across time zones and deliver outcomes autonomously.
- Participate in the interview process, including a take-home assessment and technical interview.
Requirements:
- 3+ years building production data platforms and pipelines from the ground up.
- Deep expertise in Airflow, including lineage, backfill, and retry strategies.
- Hands-on experience with dbt and version-controlled transformations.
- Strong AWS and GCP skills.
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Cost-conscious FinOps approach.
- Strong written communication and ability to work autonomously in a remote, async environment.
- Candidates must be located within a ±4-hour range of the Central European Time (CET) zone.
- Professional English communication.
- Resume must be submitted in English.
- Nice to have: familiarity with data mesh principles, domain ownership, or data product design.
- Nice to have: experience with Lakehouse architecture and Starburst Galaxy.
