Job Description
Senior data scientists and engineers designing evaluation tasks and training frontier AI models. Remote contract work with Mercor and leading AI research labs.
Responsibilities:
- Design realistic, challenging data science and data engineering tasks
- Create exploratory analyses, statistical models, machine learning pipelines, ETL and data pipeline designs, SQL and Python workflows, and experimentation or A/B test write-ups
- Write precise, task-specific criteria for data science and data engineering deliverables
- Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment to make assessments reproducible and defensible
- Receive structured feedback from senior reviewers and iterate on submitted work
- Train and evaluate frontier AI models
- Collaborate with leading researchers on projects that train and enhance AI systems
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional data science, data engineering, or machine learning experience
- Experience at a leading technology or quantitative firm, top financial institution, top-tier consulting firm, or Fortune 100 company in qualifying roles
- Experience may be split across more than one qualifying employer
- Strong command of Python, SQL, statistical modeling, machine learning, experimentation, and causal inference
- Ability to turn messy real-world data into rigorous analyses and reliable pipelines
- Excellent written English, including ability to explain technical findings clearly
- Bachelor's degree from an English-speaking country
- Detail-oriented and consistent approach to evaluating complex work
- Comfortable receiving feedback and calibrating judgment against set standards
- Must not require H1-B or STEM OPT support
