Job Description
Senior Design Engineer building Clipboard’s design system for its app-based healthcare staffing marketplace. Connecting Figma, frontend code, Storybook, and AI tooling across product teams.
Responsibilities:
- Establish the design system's architecture and foundations across Figma and code
- Build primitives, tokens, components, patterns, and critical user flows
- Build reusable, production-ready components with interaction, motion, states, and accessibility
- Keep Figma, code, and Storybook aligned
- Define system standards and maintain consistency, accessibility, and quality
- Create AI tooling and skills for system-led prototyping and development
- Write documentation, usage guidance, and component rules
- Partner with designers, product managers, and engineers on complex workflows and edge cases
- Build Clipboard's design system infrastructure connecting design and engineering across products
Requirements:
- 6+ years building production frontend design systems serving multiple product surfaces across mobile and web
- Strong frontend engineering across modern web technologies and component-based architecture
- Ability to ramp quickly in a large, established codebase
- High UI and UX craft with strong product taste
- Deep experience building and maintaining component libraries, design-token pipelines, Storybook, visual regression, and Figma workflows or plugins
- Strong accessibility fundamentals across mobile and web
- Experience standing up or consolidating design systems and aligning Figma libraries with production code
- Real experience using AI to ship prototypes, components, and system work faster
- Experience building skills, documentation, and rules that enable AI-assisted development against a design system
- Strong communication skills
- Bias for building and iterating in code
- Senior judgment in ambiguous, high-leverage work
- Body of work showing shipped design-engineering impact across production UI, component systems, prototypes, and system documentation
- Portfolio or relevant design work link required
- Must perform services from an eligible country and be authorized to work in country of residence
